We've thrown the gauntlet at Dunedin performers. Oh yes, they're gathering a crew of their very best to be pitted against the best of Wanaka talents. Poets, comedians, authors... It's an open brief so expect the unexpected. Laura Williamson will lead the locals. On the Dunedin side, Ian Loughran and his team are channeling the power of being the newest UNESCO City of Literature.
So should we be afraid? Ian Loughran AKA Prof Goff is a published poet (Solarwym press Fire and Ice anthology), writer, comedian, actor and broadcaster who made the finals in the 2010 Australian 'Quest for the Best' stand up comedy competition. His plays have been performed in NZ, the UK and Australia. He has a weekly radio show in Radio One 91FM and a monthly Poetry radio show on OAR 105.4FM and his poems have appeared in the Otago Daily Times. And he is funny.

Ah yes, I hear you cry, but check out the credentials of Ms Williamson. Her writing is both thoughtful and accessible (and quite rude if you ask about Uncle Lloyd). Her poems have been published here in NZ and overseas and she's one of the founders of Poetic justice Wanaka, who've held Men's Nights, Covers Nights, themed evenings and competitions to take home the prized Poem Bunny. A writer for Spoke Magazine and a regular scribe for the KiaOra Inflight, she's also a kickass mountain biker and woman of artistic flair, as Deputy Editor of the very fabulous On Magazine who keep everyone in Wanaka ON the pulse.

If just reading those two lists of accolades gets you out of breath then this show is likely to be your kind of Challenge Wanaka. Lycra unneccesary. Points and prizes will be awarded by audience vote, in the best tradition of slams. Who will be crowned the ultimate winner? Come along for a very happy hour and help decide...
